Discover the most popular hiking trails and ski slopes in the High Tatras – Mountain of Experience. Enjoy a lot of fun with the whole family during the holidays.
In the winter season, there are three ski resorts available: Tatranská Lomnica, Starý Smokovec and Štrbské Pleso The longest ski slope in Slovakia is located in the Tatranská Lomnica resort and is also the highest ski slope in Central Europe. This slope also has the highest elevation, where it is possible from a height of 2,196 m. n. m. to ski from Lomnický sedlo with a 5.5 km long ski slope to Tatranská Lomnica. The slopes in Tatranská Lomnica are attractive for all skiers, from experts to moderately good skiers to weaker ones, who use light blue trails in the lower part of the resort. There are one difficult, five intermediate and six tracks for beginners.
Unlike Tatranská Lomnica, the Starý Smokovec resort is more focused on alternative fun activities such as snow tubing, sledding on a 2.5 km long toboggan run and funtools – skifox, snowbike, snowscoot. During the summer season, these are attractions such as summer tubing. Hrebienok, the end station of a comfortable panoramic funicular railway from Starý Smokovec, is also a popular starting point for hikes of varying difficulty throughout the year. In the winter months, ski slopes called Jakubkova lúka I and II are available for skiers.
The Štrbské Pleso ski resort will be appreciated by fans of high-quality wide red slopes with the most beautiful views. The greatest experience in this beautiful location is the cable car ride to Solisko to a height of 1840 m above sea level, from where you can see the beautiful High Tatras, but also the entire Low Tatras massif from Kráľova hole to Chopok. In the Štrbské Pleso locality, we offer visitors up to 26 kilometers of cross-country trails and more than 9 kilometers of easy and medium-difficult slopes. Of course there are ski rental, snowboard and ski services and ski school for children and beginners.
